What We Outfit

We work with cause-based organizations at every scale — from a 50-person volunteer crew to a major fundraiser walk with 500 attendees. Common projects include:

  • Fundraiser walks and runs — participant tees, staff shirts, and volunteer vests that make your event look unified and professional
  • Galas and benefit events — embroidered polos and branded staff apparel that holds up the level of the room
  • Volunteer and crew uniforms — consistent, recognizable gear that makes your people easy to spot in the field
  • Donor appreciation gifts — premium blanks with clean embroidery that donors are proud to keep and wear
  • Awareness campaigns — print runs timed around awareness months, community campaigns, or annual programs
  • Staff onboarding kits — branded apparel as part of a welcome package for new hires and program participants
  • Recurring program merch — organizations that need a steady supply of branded apparel throughout the year

If your project doesn’t fit one of these buckets, describe it anyway. We handle a wide range of custom apparel work.

Why Nonprofits Work With Us

  • We are a mission-aligned partner. Breaking Free Industries is a second-chance employer based in Santa Ana. We hire people returning from incarceration and disrupted circumstances. When you buy from us, you’re supporting that mission directly.
  • 50-piece minimum. We don’t require 500-unit commitments to give you production-quality printing.
  • 7–10 business day production. Standard turnaround from proof approval to ship. Rush available for time-sensitive events.
  • Premium garments at honest pricing. We work with Bella+Canvas, Next Level, AS Colour, and other proven blanks. No mystery shirts.
  • We handle the details. Artwork prep, mockup review, print method recommendations — all part of the process. You don’t need a design team.

Print Methods for Nonprofits

The right method depends on your design, quantity, and garment type. Here’s a quick guide:

  • Screen printing — the standard for bulk tees. Best for 1–4 color designs on runs of 50+. Cost per piece drops with quantity.
  • Embroidery — professional finish for polos, hats, and staff jackets. Stands up to repeated washing. Ideal for year-round staff apparel.
  • DTF (Direct to Film) — full-color, photographic detail with no color count limitations. Best for complex logos, multi-color designs, and smaller runs.

Pricing Overview

Nonprofit pricing works the same as our standard pricing — quantity drives the per-piece cost down. General starting points:

  • Basic tee, 1-color screen print: Starting ~$8–$12 per piece at 50 units
  • Multi-color screen print: Each additional color adds setup cost, spread across the run
  • Embroidery: Quoted by stitch count and garment type
  • DTF prints: Flat rate per print, quantity discount applies

We don’t have a nonprofit discount tier — but we do price fairly and we’re not trying to extract margin on mission-driven work. Send us your details and we’ll give you a real number →

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s your minimum order?

50 pieces per design. We can mix sizes within that 50-piece run.

Do I need finished artwork?

No. Describe your design or send a rough version — we’ll tell you what needs to be adjusted for print. We can do basic prep at no charge for straightforward designs.

How long does production take?

7–10 business days from proof approval. If you have a hard event date, tell us upfront and we’ll confirm feasibility before you commit.

Do you ship or can we pick up?

Both. We ship anywhere in the U.S. and you can pick up from our Santa Ana studio — which lets you inspect the run before taking delivery.

Can we place a recurring order?

Yes. We work with several organizations on ongoing production relationships. If your org needs consistent apparel supply through the year, ask about a recurring program.

Also outfitting a school team or athletic program? Or looking for apparel for an Orange County business or event? We handle both.
